The PPTA (Parent Pupil Teacher Association) is open to EVERYONE connected with the school in a supportive role; pupils, parents, grandparents, carers, siblings, staff, governors and the community. Everyone connected to the school is automatically a member of our PPTA and welcome at all meetings.  Meetings are held once a term, with additional meetings when required.

The PPTA supports the school in any ways that are required – fundraising and also volunteering.  We organise social events for the children and parents, which we believe are important for the school, building relationships across the ages groups and with different members of staff. Events generate income for the school and this is spent (with PPTA agreement) on activities or equipment that enhances the experience of school for children and staff.

PPTA events tend to reflect both the calendar and the culture of the school and give the children something to look forward to outside the normal curriculum. Events bring together the whole school community.

In the past ten years funds raised (and of course generously given by parents and carers) by the PPTA have contributed to the following purchases:

  • A complete set of disco equipment

    • A large adventure playground area and sports equipment on the back field

    • New picnic benches

We also find and provide parents volunteers for a whole range of activities in the school – again to enhance children’s learning and experience at school.  Currently we have volunteers helping with:

  • Building of the sensory garden on the back field

  • Opening and managing the library out of school hours

  • Supporting reading practice in classrooms during the school day

  • Walking children to and from swimming and/or helping at school trips

The PPTA has a noticeboard by the main school entrance on which meetings are advertised, and information about PPTA committee members are posted.
